Children dancing in the streets of New York, 1940. Photo taken by Helen Levitt.
This photo is of two young children about the age of ten. They do not know what racism is or believe in it because they are too young and ignorant. This just goes to show us that it is very possible we are not born racist, we become racist through our environment. We will only conform to those who force us to believe what they want us to believe. I chose to write about this picture because it shows innocents. Racism was eminent during this time period but as children they could not tell what it meant if you were black or white, they just wanted to enjoy themselves and life. Many should learn from this photo and think about what they believe in and why.
