Kennedy gave Americans a spirit of idealism that not only inspired them to serve their country but also the world. He said in his first speak as president "And so, my fellow Americans -- ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world -- ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man," Even foreigners at the time looked up to Kennedy for his ideals. When he made a speak in West Berlin he said "I am a Berliner" in german. The people of Germany cheered for him because he showed the he gives his support. Kennedy could have been our greatest leader. We need another Kennedy in our time.

John F. Kennedy's Legacy
So I saw a lot of post on JFKs assassination but non on his life. Kennedy was elected in an extremly turbulent time period for the United States. In the 1961 the U.S. we're having a nuclear arms race, Berlin and Germany were split and racial violence was spread across America. This was also the year Kennedy was elected and these were the problems he faced. Kennedy vowed to protect West Berlin from soviet attacks, made the first ever nuclear arms treaty possibly preventing nuclear war and was a self proclaimed supporter of equal rights. Kennedy was a president that inspired people both at home and abroad and he believed together we could accomplish so much even make it to the moon.

John F. Kennedy is definitely in my list of top-ten favorite presidents and, trust me, that list is very selective and highly sought after by every former president I'm sure. Not only did he make many brave decisions in one of the toughest decades in American history, he also looked good while doing it. Unfortunately, his presidency was cut short by a bullet to the head and they say that America's innocence was lost along with JFK, which I believe is true but let us not look at his death, let us look instead at his life and legacy. You're right when you say he may have prevented a nuclear war with the Soviet Union and he made that famous quote (which inspired my Twitter bio by the way). He definitely led a period where the entire world looked up to the United States as a role model and peace keeper. Anyway, good ol' JFK is certainly missed and, as we continue through uncertain times, Americans continue to hope we'll have a leader just like him to guide us through the way.
