Officers Ward and Paramore of Boynton Beach Police Department received a 911 call last Saturday from a families apartment. The police officers went to make sure the family was ok, but as it turned out, the caller was a toddler who accidentally dialed 911. As the officers spoke with the family, one of the girls older sisters told them she was sad because the family couldn't afford to buy a Christmas tree this year. Right then and there, the officers knew they has to do something.
After visiting a local Home Depot, officer Ward and Paramore returned to the families apartment with a Christmas tree, stand, lights and ornaments, all bought with their own money to surprise the family. They met with the young girl, and immediately broke out with a big smile realizing the tree was for her and her family. The girl was so excited she went and gave the tree a big hug.
Members of the community have also reached out to buy presents for the family, and officer Ward and Paramore plan to return to deliver gifts to the family before Christmas to make the young girls Christmas come true.
Because the girl was so joyful, the officers decided to capture it all on video. The video was uploaded and went viral. The video has been seen by more then 8.8 million views as of Sunday night.
