Heifer International
http://www.heifer.org/

This organization focuses on ending poverty and world hunger by allowing people to buy a goat, a cow or some chickens online to send to a poor country. This allows for the family who receives the animal to use the milk, or eggs they create, to feed themselves. The Heifer website allows you to see what families you helped and where your donation would be most effective. You can pick the animals and locations and also see what donating a chicken versus a goat can do for the family.

  1. Great research Alex. I hadn't known about the LI Vets Initiative. Perhaps you should lead a fundraiser for them?
