Is bat meat the reason behind the Ebola outbreak?
In Africa, the first family that reportedly had a case of Ebola said they hunted and ate bat meat. In some countries in that region, bat meat is their main source of food and in others, it is a delicacy. The bats carry the Ebola virus and it somehow transferred over to humans. It is still unclear as to how the virus spilled over. Some theories are that the middle species that helps it spread are primates such as apes and gorillas.
