Families and the poverty line

In America there are many ways someone can become homeless. For many people living on the poverty line something that's a "no biggie" can lead someone to homelessness, such as missing a payment, buying on credit or even somthing as small as getting a ticket. People also can loose there home from somthing that's conpletly out of their control such as a natural disaster. Other reason can be family disputes. This being said many of U.S.'s homeless are families. For example divorce can be both devastating to a family's financial security.
     The poverty line is based on the amount a family needs. For 1 person the line is about $11,000. For each person added it's about another 4,000. The hardest part is for families to get over that poverty line again and rerun to normal. There are many organizations that help these families get back on track such as HomeAid, Salvation Army and volunteers of America. These organizations build shelters, train for workforce and financial training.
