Poverty during the Great Depression

These pictures were taken by Dorothea Lange, an influential photojournalist and  American documentary photographer, who's photographs humanized the consequences of the Great Depression. Lange's series of photographs taken of this family captures the struggles of poverty during a traumatic time that still exists today. You can see by the wrinkles on this young mother's face that the Great Depression took a toll on many Americans and  this is still occurring today. Poverty, though it is not common to see where we live, sis still affecting a great amount of Americans and these photos taken by Lange are influential and will bring awareness to poverty in not only America but in many other countries as well.
